Gardening With Insects

Pollinator habitats are such an important part of any gardener’s garden.  It sure is a beautiful sight to see Monarch butterfly, buzzing honeybees or our State’s own Carolina mantid (praying mantis) out in our yards but what other kinds of inspects should we be seeing?  Ari Hippensteal with SC Wildlife Federation will discuss the importance of insects, how to include nectar and host plants in your gardens, why pollinators matter but are in decline and how we can ensure our gardens and outdoor spaces are safe and welcoming to all insects.  These, we think, are the little important and beautiful things in life.

This is a FREE event.  Space is limited to 16 guests, with pre-registration required.

Coffee from Irmo’s own Loveland Coffee will be served.

The event is finished.
